It's Time

Making A Change I love August... the sun, the birds, the trees, living where I do! I had the same last August but had just moved in, was busy planning and didn't have time to enjoy it! But moving here was that change. We told ourselves that we had one year to get the big stuff sorted so we could be with the boys more and with each other more. I wanted more time back, so changes were made, sacrifices were made... 12 months really isn't that long - as long as you use that time wisely. Can you commit and stick to it? We tell ourselves that everything keeps us from pursuing our dream venture. Instead, we hold onto our dreams like we’ve got a lottery ticket in our back pocket—if we haven’t tried, we can’t fail, so we keep hold of the possibility but don’t take action to make it happen.  You see, I know you; I am you. For nearly 15 years, I blamed time, kids, hubby, paid employment, private clients, the wrong house, no desk, no office… well, everyone and everything for not being ab

Evaluate

Image
Do you evaluate what is happening? When I twisted my ankle, it took weeks to heal. Only sitting and resting with it up helped to ease the swelling. During that time, I wrote, created, and planned the Complete Business Toolkit pages. I would have had them ready, but I was pushing for time. Someone knew, and they gave me the time. Google defines evaluation as -  to judge or determine the significance, worth, or quality of; assess : to evaluate the results of an experiment. Everything we do should be evaluated, from making that cake (I always evaluate these!) to the social media posts we put out, the emails we send, and even what we offer! In my Chunk It Down training, there is a section that reads... A tree (your business model) needs many things. It needs leaves that fall off when they no longer serve a purpose. It needs strong branches to grow other leaves and branches. It needs a strong trunk and roots. When you create purposefully and have a structure, you can easily let things fall

Your Time

Standing Still Is Not An Option Welcome to August... I have good news for any parents reading this: There are just four weeks left, and your little darlings will be back at school! But what about you? Are you plotting your path to success? When the children start school in September, the teachers already know what they will be doing with them... It's planned out already, and they have a framework and timelines to stick to. Nothing is left to chance. Everything is planned. Is your business running the same way? Maybe it's time to get started on that idea you've had for ages! And you know, with your skills and experience, if you could just leverage your time and create and launch your dream service online, making money would feel easier (and it would take up way less of your time). It’s not that you don’t believe in your idea - if I asked you to tell me about it, you would talk to me solidly for two hours with a light beaming through you so bright that you could illuminate

Why Your Meta Accounts (Facebook and Instagram) should be separate from your personal

Image
Ever had that cringy moment? Posted something really personal meant for friends to your Facebook / Instagram business pages? Or even worse, realise that you posted it to your client's Meta business account! OMG - Cringe moment! First thought, delete, delete, delete! Second thought - OMG, did they notice? Crisis averted, no one noticed and you live to fight another day, silly Facebook / Instagram for mixing it up! And breathe - phew, now do you ever get to the thought of - how did that happen? I have good news and bad news for you. Good news - The error wasn't Facebook / Instagram. Bad news - The error was you! Now you need to accept it and find out why! Well, here goes... you have connected the two together probably with your phone! Easily done unfortunately and not that easy to undo! As with most Facebook and Instagram settings, doing it is easy, and you don't even know how you did it!  Here are a few top tips to keep you out of trouble!  -  Keep your personal accounts S

Why a 19 digit random password isn't enough

Image
Don't believe that just because you have 19 random digit passwords, then you are safe; you are not! Don't believe that just because you have 2FA set up you are safe, you are not! Why notifications are key to what's happening! I woke up to a notification from Facebook asking, 'Are you logging into your account? ' at 3:05 a.m. near Katowice, Poland. Well, actually I wasn't I was fast asleep. However, I know many people who swipe away notifications or just press yes, believing it's a delayed reaction... Please be aware it isn't. I took the laptop (for the first time in over a week—it seems strange that I haven't logged in; they are now targeting me!). Scammers had managed to crack my 19 random-digit password and now wanted access... I wondered how it's possible, 19 digits, not used anywhere else - thank god - otherwise, they would have caused more chaos! I logged into Facebook as I normally would, entering my email/username and password, then my 2
