Oh yes, love them or hate them they provide businesses with 50% of their sales and they are a way of having that private audience with your ideal customer!

What do I mean?

How many of you read emails in bed or in the bathroom?

Well if I knocked on your door and asked if I could come and share something about my business with you while you were sitting on the toilet, having a bath or laying in bed you would think I was crazy!

But you will read my emails in these really private places - and this is just as good!

So firstly if you are not sending regular emails, please start, even if you only have 5 people on your list and 2 of those are family!

It's the habit you need to start - today... now don't panic!

When it comes to building a list you don't mind creating the lead magnet and the freebie but then following up and creating that sale email can seem icky!

I get you, I personally hate those emails where I opt-in to get a PDF or a free video and then I am bombarded with sales emails - at that point I unsubscribe!

Wouldn't it be great if you could send sales emails but without that feeling like your going to throw up or cringe while you ask someone to buy your thing!

Well, you can and you should be doing it.

But, there is a rule.

You want to woo your audience before you go right in for second base, you get what I am saying... would you ask the person you go out with on your first date what they want for breakfast!!?!?!?

So take it slow, and give value to start - everyone loves a good freebie...

Then introduce them to you, to your business, explain why you do what you do... let them get to know you.  After they have decided they like you (or not) then you can ask...

Shall I tell you a secret... people who join an email list expect to be sold to... 

But, people only buy from those they like, know and trust... 

Once someone has been on your list, read all about you and they are STILL there - then and only then can you move in with the sales emails.

Oh and not all the time (ideally 1 in 4) but they joined your list because they wanted to know about a particular subject AND they had your free lead magnet - then sending them an email letting them know it's up for sale isn't such a bad thing... if anything it's your duty to sell to them... they did join your list after all!
