Woah, like with all my blogs it's simple advice - but there is always a reason.

Let's start with the basics.

You have a Facebook Business Page - yes
You have an Instagram account - yes

You post to Facebook and cross-post immediately to Instagram - this is by far the easiest and quickest way to post to 2 platforms - true.. yes

BUT...

I follow your Facebook Page and your Instagram Page.

You post the same thing to both.

I get a notification about Facebook and I go look at it, read through it, like it and even comment...

I then get another notification about Instagram, I look and see the same thing... I don't comment or like it because I have already done it.

The next day I get the same, I go to Facebook, comment and like, go to Instagram and again ignore it.

On the third day, I look at Facebook and ignore the comment from Instagram - because I am too busy to keep seeing the same post.

Don't cry just yet, I know it's hard, and I know you want to share but you need to know that you can share the same content across multiple platforms, you just need a good strategy in place.

Use Facebook to maximise your business exposure!

Do you have a Facebook Page? A Facebook Page is a godsend, it was created so you can shout about how fabulous your business is. So, why are so many not using them? Posting from your personal profile where all those contacts you've been collecting is better for exposure! But, what you are not realising is you are reducing your exposure... firstly posting to a Page gives your Page followers something to see as they are scrolling...then, sharing that post to your own feed (using custom friend lists) with a small snippet of text about how excited you are about your business (etc) will give your friends on your Facebook profile something to see and its another ht on social media (2 places / nearly the same post). This gives you double the engagement! and... There is one more massive benefit as well - Meta does not like you posting business things on a personal profile, well you are simply sharing a Page post...and according to Meta, that is acceptable! Enjoy getting more exposure!
